Coping With Sleep Disorders And The Difficulty Of Falling Asleep
Every animal sleeps and humans are no different so it should not be a problem and it makes you wonder about the reasons it is not uncommon to suffer from sleeping problems and insomnia
In the natural world animals sleep easily but not if they feel stressed and feel nervous of danger nearby As humans we do not usually worry that predatory animals are threatening us but there are many other things that cause us stress.
Modern life is so complex and complicated we find ourselves having to make lists of all the things we have to do each day so we should not be surprised we find it all difficult to know how best to deal with so many different things. When you finally get to bed at night some of these worries remain while you may not be actively worrying about the issues your brain never switches off completely and the worries are active in your subconcious.
Feeling weary and needing sleep you try to rest but your busy little subconcious is bringing those concerns back to stress you and preventing you from relaxing and falling asleep. After a while of this failure to fall asleep you start worrying that you will never get to sleep and you become more and more agitated that you cannot sleep.
If you are to relax and fall asleep you need to get over these problems which prevent you relaxing enough to drfit off to a restful night of sleep and if you are to get past these sleeping problems. One effective way to deal with these worries is to decide to do something with the worries you have at a certain time the following day and you will not think any more about it until that time Taking action and making a decisioncan relax knowing that you have done what you can for now and tomorrow you will work on solving whatever the problem is I have found that doing this helps me to stop worrying which allows me to finaly relax safe in the knowledge that I will act on the problem in the morning.
Clearing your mind of worrying thoughts so they are no longer troubling you will not help you find insomnia solutions and may prevent your relaxation and some people do this by reading in bed but avoid anything too exciting.
Hot milky drinks are often considered to be beneficial enabling them to gently slip into restfull sleep though caffeine may be best avoided. Sleeping should come naturally and the way to achieve that seems to be learning how to relax properly so by taking action to help prevent trouble falling asleep and help us relax so we can reduce the problem of insomnia and sleeping difficulties.
